Giving Back to the Community Through Dental Care

At CityView Family Dentistry, we believe that quality dental care is something everyone deserves — regardless of income or circumstance. That’s why Dr. Patrick C. Hann has dedicated himself to community service for over two decades. Since 2002, Dr. Hann has volunteered for the Donated Dental Services Program, providing essential dental care to disabled, elderly, and medically compromised individuals who would otherwise have little to no access to treatment.

In addition to his volunteer work, Dr. Hann proudly serves on the board of the Chicago Dental Society Foundation, working to expand access to dental care across the greater Chicago region.

CDS Foundation Clinic — Our Mission

The Chicago Dental Society Foundation Clinic provides essential dental care to low-income residents of DuPage, Cook, and Lake counties. Through the volunteer efforts of dedicated oral healthcare professionals like Dr. Hann, along with strong community partnerships, the clinic is able to serve those who would otherwise have very limited access to quality dental services.

The Chicago Dental Society Foundation is the only dental foundation in Illinois that owns and operates a clinic staffed entirely by volunteer dentists — a distinction that reflects the incredible dedication of its contributors.

What the CDS Foundation Clinic Does

Volunteer dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants at the clinic work together to alleviate pain and restore oral health for patients in need. Services provided include dental exams, prophylaxis (cleanings), intraoral and panoramic X-rays, basic restorations, and carefully evaluated extractions.

The clinic pre-screens all patients and schedules appointments in advance, allowing volunteer dentists to walk in and immediately focus on providing care. In cases requiring more extensive treatment, volunteer oral surgeons and specialists are called upon to help. The clinic relies on partners in the dental trade, oral health professions, and the broader community to deliver this vital care.
